Mona Farrouhk, B. A.

Mona Farroukh is currently working for Oakland Primary Health Services (OPHS) as the Director of the Child and Adolescent Health Center Program.  She started at the organization in April of 2015 over seeing three school-based Teen Health Centers in Pontiac and Waterford area.   Ms. Farroukh has more than 15 years of experience working with the Arab American immigrants and refugees’ youth and families in the Dearborn and surrounding areas at the ACCESS organization. Mona served the Communities through her professional positions at ACCESS as the Coordinator of the Adolescent Health programs, and the co-director of Project Connect grant that focused on addressing adolescent relationships violence and reproductive coercion.  In 2007, Mona took on another responsibility supervising the DELTA Project, the Domestic Violence Prevention Program.

Mona received the Harmony Award by Women of Color Institute (WOCI) in 2015.   The National Organization for Women (NOW) recognized Ms. Farroukh as the 2012-Feminist of the Year, Loretta Moore Award recipient.  Mona also received a Certificate of Recognition from the State of Michigan by Governor Snyder in 2011, and the Spirit Award by the Wayne County Council Against Family Violence in 2007.

Mona loves to travel.  Her children are the joy of her life.   She enjoys hiking, para-sailing, listening to soft music, and spending time with friends.
